The horizon seems so vast and beautiful. But I have realized that it also clearly defines my limits. If you think about it, it is a distinct line where my comprehension and understanding ends, and rest of God begins. There are new and exciting opportunities for me along the horizon! I believe that God desires to show me more of Himself and how He is working in this world, far beyond what I have seen before, and I want to invite you along with me on this incredible journey!

God has been stirring in my heart over the past few months, and I have been sensing that it is time to go. For a while, my question Go where? remained unanswered, but it was clear to me that it was time. So my best plan was to walk forward into the unknown, with faith that He would direct my steps. God’s direction has been clear, time and time again. He has been faithful to provide, to show up, to work, every step of the way. And again, He is faithful. As I was considering future direction, missions was on my radar, but honestly it was the most unlikely option in my mind. But God put an opportunity in my path called the World Race and invited me to explore the possibility. I’m excited to tell you that after much prayer and consideration, I decided to move forward with this trip, and I plan to launch in January 2020!

Adventure in Missions: The World Race

The World Race is an 11-month mission trip to 11 countries around the world. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to preach the gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution because of human trafficking, and bring the hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations. I will be doing the Expedition Route, which is designed to visit countries considered unreached by the gospel. Over the next year, my mission field will be Australia, Indonesia, India, Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Spain, and Morocco.

The World Race is an incredible opportunity and seems like a perfect fit for me! The chance to travel and experience new cultures, to live in community and serve alongside brothers and sisters, to learn and grow deeper in my walk with God – all of those elements created an initial draw. However, my motivation to commit to a year of my life overseas was not based on any of those things. I am convinced of this:

  1. Two things in this world are eternal: the Word of God and the souls of men. If I want my life to have a great impact, I will invest in those two things. I want the truth of the gospel to change how I live today and be the driving factor of everything I do.
  2. God is working globally in ways I cannot even comprehend, to make His glory known among the nations. I have realized that my world is the extent of what I have experienced up until this point -which means that my world is very, very small. God has given me an open invitation to move past the boundaries of what I know and experience more of His glory.

I am asking for two things. First and foremost, I need your prayer. Would you consider walking alongside me in prayer through this next season? I already know this will be the hardest thing I have ever done. I realized a while ago that I will not be able to do this in my own strength. Pray that I would surrender to Him daily and embrace my need to be utterly dependent on His sustaining grace for every moment. Pray that I would be sensitive to growth opportunities as I am challenged and stretched. Pray that I would stay strong in faith and trust the Lord’s provision during the process of raising support.  Pray that God would prepare the minds and hearts of me and those in my squad. Pray for the work that God is already doing in these unreached places and for the work He will do through us.

In addition to prayer support, I need to raise $19,800 over the next year which will cover the cost of all transportation, food, housing, insurance and other miscellaneous costs. Would you also prayerfully consider supporting me financially during my journey? If I am being honest, that number is very intimidating. But I believe in a God that does BIG things! I am excited to see how He is going to provide. Please pray about partnering with me in God’s mission among the nations. Any amount that you feel led to donate will help! (There is a link to make a donation at the top of this page.)

I will be posting regularly on this blog to keep you updated on my journey. You can subscribe and any updates that I post will be emailed to you. I would also be happy to connect with you personally to share more of what God is doing!

“Missions exists because worship doesn’t. Worship is ultimate, not missions, because God is ultimate, not man. When this age is over, and the countless millions of the redeemed fall on their faces before the throne of God, missions will be no more.” -John Piper
